This project lies on a building plot which is part of an allotment, located in one of the busiest arteries of Porto city, that establishes the main connection between the industrial zone and the Rotunda da Boavista as well as the connection to the main access to the city.

The project's implantation and basement limits were already defined in relation to a previously developed project. However, it was the client's intention to respond to the emerging real estate market, which is focused on small apartments with areas of around 40 m², thus concentrating the housing program in small modules and consequently allowing a greater profitability of the housing block directed to a young public, namely students, who are looking for short-term rentals.

The wavy and rhythmic façades are result of a modular set of openings and balconies, translated into an original geometric and elegant "skin" providing identity to the whole.

The dynamics given from concrete pre-fabricated balconies contrasts with the peculiar golden vertical details that not only reinforce the rhythmic cadence of the façades but also refine the architectural set.

The chosen solution of pre-fabricated balconies was subjected to a detailed and innovative study, in response to client’s demand looking to reduce the construction’s timing as well as to control and minimize the intervention, maintaining the focus on the maximum profitability.
