Restructuring the Pedro Hispano Viaduct's exit consists in inserting a new lower way, in the direction of Sidónio Pais Avenue, in order to promote the widening of the highway - thus becoming available with two ways. It was also planned the reinforcement of the structure of the main way, in the passage above the subway line, so as to provide a larger viaduct span that will allow the passage of a new wider street parallel to the subway line.

The lane was widened to accommodate two urban traffic routes in the same direction. Therefore, it was necessary to design a structure that would allow to achieve the mentioned result. The construction of a concrete support wall was therefore foreseen and was covered by a stone masonry wall with a composition similar to the previous one.
