Located in Ipanema, one of the most emblematic areas of the city of Rio de Janeiro, this project for the change and renewal of a pre-existing services building, benefits from the proximity to the well-known beaches of Arpoador and Debo. Within walking distance of the city's well-known tourist attractions, this building is designed for a high-quality hotel program.
The richness of the surrounding landscape has raised the need to intervene in the existing building by providing it with ample glazed openings allowing guests to contemplate in full the surrounding landscape elements. The project for this 122-room hotel aimed to distribute the program over 10 floors (one below ground and nine above ground). On the ground floor guests would have direct access to the reception, dining spaces, bar, and administration rooms. In the buried level were located the storage areas, technical zones and service rooms of exclusive use of the personnel. For the rooftop was designed a detached body where were located recreational spaces of common use to the guests namely an outdoor pool, bar, gym and respective facilities.
The project proposed combining comfort with the elegance of a modern and contemporary space and was designed to maximize the building's sustainable character in response to the growing ecological demands of the city.
