The aim of the Fontes Pereira de Melo School project was to build a new bar for the students, while also ensuring the school’s proper functioning after the terrain configuration and the surrounding urban framework changed.

These urban changes implied the partial demolition of a small part of one of the school buildings. The bar was implemented in a new volume, with a metallic structure and a glass and stainless steel coating, located in the patio adjacent to the multipurpose pavilion west wing.

The new urban alignment also involved the demolition of the lobby building – as well as the fence’s repositioning –, which was rebuilt according to the DREN’s recommendation for this type of program.
